Teachers – Miss Laing
Autumn 1 Curriculum Map
Dear Class 2 Families,
A very warm welcome back to school and an extra special welcome into Year 1 and Year 2!
I hope you have had an amazing summer break and hopefully made some lasting memories over the 6 weeks. I feel incredibly lucky to be teaching in Class 2 again and cannot wait to be teaching your children this year. It is wonderful to have the Year 2’s back in our class as they are the great role models for our new Year 1 children. Our Year 1’s have already come back to school and stepped into the role of Key Stage 1 children. We are going to have a fabulous year together as Class 2.
Below are the routines we will follow throughout the year. I will limit changes as much as possible but you will be informed of any changes.
Water Bottles, Snacks and Uniform
Please ensure your child has their own labelled water bottle in school every day. Stitch bottles seem to be extremely popular this year so it is important their names are clear to avoid any mix ups! Each child is provided with one fruit snack per day. However, please pack your child an additional fruit or veggies snack for the afternoons. Finally, please label all jumpers, fleeces and cardigans. The weather is very temperamental so please ensure your child comes to school with a coat for rainy wet plays… even if it is sunny in the morning!
PE Days and Homework
Please send your child into school in PE Kit on Thursdays and Fridays. As for homework this half term, please read with your child as often as possible. RWI Reading books will be changed on Fridays.
Show and Tell Fridays and Squizzy
If your child would like to bring something in to share with our class, we would love to hear all about it on Fridays. Additionally, we have a class teddy this year named Squizzy (Squishy Buzz) which will go home on Fridays with our ‘Superstar Of The Week’. There is no requirement to take Squizzy out with you on the weekends but he will be sent with his ‘Adventures Book’ if you wish to add in any pictures, drawings or stories of the fun he has had!
Once again, I am super excited to be your child’s teacher this year and look forward to watching them progress and grow into amazing little people. If you have any questions (big or small), I am available on the gate Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays or alternatively, please contact the office to arrange a meeting with me.
Kind Regards,
Miss Laing.
