Class 2 were invited to join Cherry class from Kenton Primary to attend the 2015 Garden Festival at Powderham Castle and all had a wonderful, if slightly chilly morning!
After the walk up to Powderham, the children were invited to be part of the special opening when Lady Devon with Toby Buckland cut the ribbon, we were treated to a fireworks display!
Inside the show we explored the festival, we especially enjoyed watching a man making animals using willow, we then they headed for the activities tent, especially set up for schools. The children took part in a range of activities, including carrot trumpet making and mud pie cooking! After the sessions in the tent, we finished with a story in the story tent.
The children then had a lovely lunch on the grass, before the walk back to Kenton school. Where we joined the children from Cherry class for a play and chance to mix and make friends.
A lovely day was had by all.
