Classes 1 and 2 had a fantastic day out in the sunshine at West Town Farm.
The children’s day was packed full! They found out about cows and sheep and saw newborn calves and lambs. They learnt about the importance of bees in our ecosystem, walked through orchards and fields, hunted for signs of badgers and saw a dead mole!
They hunted for minibeasts and tried to identify those found, chopped veg and wild garlic leaves (found and picked earlier) to make soup, identified different vegetables growing in the veggie gardens and heard a story around the camp fire whilst trying the soup.
Thank you to our amazing helpers – Emma Kirk, Jenny Bennett, Amanda Shepherd, Chis Kirk, Linda Fairley (Tristan and Evie’s grandma) , Louise Miller, Jess Whyte (George’s grandma) and Isabella’s grandma. We couldn’t do it without you!
