Today in Class 4’s science lesson we were learning about gravity. We read some information about Sir Isaac Newton, Ibn al-Haytham and Galileo Galilei. The children were then asked to weigh the mass of certain objects in the classroom (using kitchen scales) and then to measure the force of gravity pulling the objects to earth (in Newtons)….
Class 4 spent an amazing afternoon celebrating their Christmas party. They enjoyed completing a Christmas quiz before joining in with a range of party games including musical statues, musical bumps, Christmas charades as well as wrap the snowman in toilet paper! What a fun afternoon we had full of Christmas festivities and good cheer and everyone enjoyed letting their hair down! Well done class…
Kenn Primary school greatly enjoyed a visit from the local author Rob Holmes, author of the ‘Master Owl’ books. Rob spent time with each class, sharing his books and answering questions about his journey to becoming a published author. Class 4 spent a fantastic afternoon designing, making and testing rockets. In teams, they planned stream lined, aerodynamic models which they then constructed out of card. They inserted a film canister into the bottom of the rocket. The canister was filled 1/3 full with water and half an alka seltzer tablet was added to the water…
Today Classes 3 & 4 had some very special visitors. Azooz’s mum brought in her puppies for the children to see and hold. All of key stage two had a chance to stroke the puppies and ask lots of questions.

Class 2 loved searching our beautiful schools grounds for common garden plants. Our science topic this term is ‘Plants!’ so what better way to begin our new topic than creating sticky flower bracelets. 😊🌻🌸🌹🌼
Class 3 enjoyed a brilliant trip to Kents Cavern last week. We had a fascinating tour of the underground caves and learnt so many facts about Stone Age people and William Pengelly, the Victorian archeologist who excavated the caves. Class 4 enjoyed an informative session about fire safety at home with James from the Devon and Somerset Fire Rescue Service.
