On Thursday 3rd February, 2022. Class 4 went to Paignton Zoo for the day to find out about animal classification (which is their current science topic). C4 have had a lovely afternoon with two student midwives from Plymouth University learning how to: handle a newborn baby, change a nappy, dress a newborn, administer CPR to a baby, child or adult put someone into the recovery position. Children from Classes 3 and 4 took part in the Dawlish area cross country run today. In very muddy conditions, all of the children ran their hearts out and their scores combined to give the school a third overall for Y5/6, and a second for Y3/4.

This week, the whole school has taken part in CAP workshops. CAP stands for Child Assault Prevention. The CAP team work with children and staff to help reduce children’s vulnerability to abuse. Through role-play and use of puppets, the children are given strategies for how to ensure they stay safe, strong and free.
The whole school were delighted to go the Kenn Centre to see the fabulous Theatre Alibi production of “I believe in unicorns”. All the children were transfixed from start to finish as they watched the story unfold.
