Classes 1 and 2 trip to West Town Farm

May 25, 2018Jo Hussain

The sun shone brightly all day for our trip to West Town Farm. It was a brilliant day full of fun activities and learning, in a beautiful setting. Children learnt about plants that grow wild that can be eaten, and plants that were sown and grown on the farm. Children picked wild garlic flowers and…

May 3, 2018Jo Hussain

Our most recent four legged visitor was Betty’s dog, Dougie. He is just a puppy and was beautifully soft and fluffy and coped very well with so many children. Betty told us all about how she looks after him—thank you Betty and Mum for sharing Dougie with us!

The animals keep a coming to Classes 1 and 2 and we love it! Our most recent visitors have been Fin’s chickens, Tristan’s pony, Jack and Jess’s hamster, Rosie’s guinea pigs and Jack and Lily’s rabbit. We are always very excited to see different pets and learn all about them.

April 9, 2018Jo Hussain

Classes 1 and 2 were joined by their peers from Kenton Primary for an inter-school morning of multi-sports activities. The weather stayed dry and spirits were high with children working in teams to tackle each event in the carousel.

March 29, 2018Jo Hussain

Classes 1 and 2 visited Bickham Farm as part of their learning about food and where it comes from. Rod Hall kindly showed us all around his farm and told us about his horses, cows and calves and his chickens and bees.

This week is British Science week. The children have all have been doing lots of science and discovering how amazing and fun it can be! We have had workshops with Ruth, from Sciencedipity, demonstrating explosions and chemical changes. All children made a potion that erupted and then made some fabulous slime! We also had an…

World Book Day 2018

March 12, 2018Jo Hussain

It might have been a week late, due to the impromptu snow days last week, but everyone at Kenn had a great time dressing as one of their favourite book characters. We had everything from Roald Dahl and David Walliams characters through to fairy tale characters, and we even had to hunt for a Wally…
