This week Class 3 have been learning about the rock cycle and we recreated this using Starburst sweets. We started with IGNEOUS ROCKS which weathered and eroded into sediments. Today in Class 4’s science lesson we were learning about gravity. We read some information about Sir Isaac Newton, Ibn al-Haytham and Galileo Galilei. The children were then asked to weigh the mass of certain objects in the classroom (using kitchen scales) and then to measure the force of gravity pulling the objects to earth (in Newtons)….
Class 4 spent an amazing afternoon celebrating their Christmas party. They enjoyed completing a Christmas quiz before joining in with a range of party games including musical statues, musical bumps, Christmas charades as well as wrap the snowman in toilet paper! Class 4 spent a fantastic afternoon designing, making and testing rockets. In teams, they planned stream lined, aerodynamic models which they then constructed out of card.
