Writing week was a huge success!

February 21, 2017Jo Hussain

We launched our writing week with Tell Tale stories who told us two great stories to help everyone with their ideas. Having thought that we might use animals in our own stories, we were then treated to a hands on show, where we met snakes, a millipede, a barn own and other fantastic creatures. It was…

Come and play.

February 21, 2017Jo Hussain

Class 1 invited parents, grandparents and carers to come and join them in their play. They joined in with the general mischief as well as phonics, dough disco, maths and circle time.  Thank you for coming to play with us.

Lotions and potions.

February 21, 2017Jo Hussain

As part of our Magic and Mystery topic, Class 1 have been exploring what happens when you mix different ingredients and liquids together.  We added a little bit of this and a little bit of that to create magic potions; potions that can give invisibility, super speed and turn you into a rabbit! We wrote…

Getting physical in Class 1!

February 21, 2017Jo Hussain

Class 1 have been developing all manner of physical skills with Mr Tyrell in PE. We’ve been sliding, balancing, going forwards and backwards and learning how to dismount with control, and in different ways, from the benches. Our confidence is growing and we are trying hard to stretch what our bodies can do.

It’s getting chilly in Class 2!

February 9, 2017Jo Hussain

It’s a bit chilly in Class 2! After collecting 123 milk cartons we built an igloo for Benji! He loves it! Thank you to everyone for all the cartons…

On a cold and frosty morning…

January 27, 2017Jo Hussain

A bitterly cold morning led to Class 1 exploring the world around them. The children spotted how white and frosty everything was.  As we turned a corner, leading on to the field, Marley said, “This is beautiful!”   We spotted many things including how hard the ground was and how crispy the grass was.

Grimm Tales at Killerton

January 3, 2017Jo Hussain

Class 2 and Cherry Class from Kenton School, had a super day at Killerton House at the ‘Grimm Tales’ exhibition.   We took part in lots of activities within the house, heard some of the tales told by a storyteller and followed a trail within the grounds. We found out a lot more about the tales written by the Grimm Brothers…

When Christmas Comes to Town!

December 17, 2016Jo Hussain

Kenn children really shone throughout their performance of When Christmas Comes to Town; they sang and danced their hearts out. The costumes and set looked very professional – thanks to the very creative Mr and Mrs Coles and Gemma for putting together such a magical set. Very well done, Mrs Lunn and children, for taking…

Christmas Feast

December 15, 2016Jo Hussain

Well done to Martin, our cook and Trudi for making a scrumptious Christmas lunch for the whole school.  We sat down together, pulled crackers, told silly jokes and sang along to Christmas songs. Christmas has arrived!

“He’s behind you!” – “Oh no he’s not!”

December 15, 2016Jo Hussain

The Dick Whittington Panto came to Kenn School – kindly paid for by the fundraising efforts of the PTA. The children were part of the show, taking on different roles throughout. It was a lovely Christmas treat and lovely to share the tradition of panto with the children.
