Class 3 had a fun filled day today with a visit from History into Schools. A Roman gladiator time travelled from ancient Rome to teach us all about Roman soldiers, entertainment and customs. This week Class 3 have been learning about the rock cycle and we recreated this using Starburst sweets. We started with IGNEOUS ROCKS which weathered and eroded into sediments. Compaction made these small pieces of rocks into SEDIMENTARY ROCKS. Then heat and pressure made them into METAMORPHIC ROCK. Finally, the rocks and were melted into…
Today, Class 4 were learning about air resistance. They were split into groups and each group had to make a parachute. Today in Class 4’s science lesson we were learning about gravity. We read some information about Sir Isaac Newton, Ibn al-Haytham and Galileo Galilei. The children were then asked to weigh the mass of certain objects in the classroom (using kitchen scales) and then to measure the force of gravity pulling the objects to earth (in Newtons)….
