Have a look at the eggs we’ve been experimenting with in science…
Class 3 left these eggs in different liquids over half term to see what would happen. We left them in lemon juice, Coke, vinegar, blue food colouring, and finally, a mixture of all of the above!
The vinegar had dissolved the hard shell completely and the lemon had softened its egg shell. But the big surprise was the blue food colouring because when we cracked it open, the whole egg had turned dark blue as well.
This was part of our work on teeth to demonstrate what can happen to a porous surface when it is exposed to different types of liquid.
