James Hedge, a local artist, came in to work with Class 3 on an Augmented Reality art project, promoted by Daisi and kindly funded for us by The Helen Foundation.
The children experienced making their own stop animation, using images from Ancient Egypt. These were then fed into a program on the computer which was able to convert them into a GIF.
After this, the children chose another image from which they then created a base plate. This was scanned into the computer.
Both the Base image and the GIF were then merged in another program on the computer. Using our tablets the children then had fun scanning the base plates looking at the augmentations and hunting for their own.
It was a very exciting, productive day, we all learned a lot and now understand a little more about how we can use computers creatively.
