To celebrate the end of our learning on Pirates and Mermaids we had a ‘dress up’ day and class 1 was awash with beautiful mermaids and swashbuckling pirates! Even the cooks in the galley entered into the spirit of our day by wearing pirate costumes and serving up pirate food; fish bites and chips (but no seaweed!)
At the end of the day we shared our learning with our families in our last ever Sharing Assembly as Class 1; a wonderful showcase of our creativity through song and art, our fantastic reading and amazing writing. We loved sharing the knowledge we have gained over the year particularly about birds of the British Isles. Blue tits, spotted woodpeckers, snow buntings, chaffinches, goldfinches, blue throats, yellow hammers, bullfinches and puffins are all birds we have learnt to recognise as well as of course the more common garden birds robins and blackbirds.
Once again Class 1 rose to the occasion showing how confident they have become at speaking in front of an audience. A lovely way to end the week!
